Mind if I ask why you find this unhelpful?

BABMAY11 only marked helpful talking point in opposition to the fairtax or marked unhelpful talking points supporting the fairtax.
The truth of the talking point (that were almost 1/2 way to ware we need to bring it out of the ways and means committee) didn’t matter.

The FairTax issue doesn’t appear poised to go away anytime soon. Ken Hoagland, the communications director of Americans for Fair Taxation (AFT), points out that his organization, devoted exclusively to pushing the plan, has signed up over 800,000 supporters — more than half of them in the last six months

Before you take action, shouldn’t you properly explain what it is you are trying to achieve. Everything I’ve seen so far is hand-waving.

Many great talking points have been buried inside comments in discussion threads, but a brief explanation of what we are trying to achieve is a good thing.

The title of this agenda suggest, “Replace the Income tax with the Fairtax” is self explanatory. But it doesn’t stop there. We would like to replace Capitol Gains, Corporate Income, Payroll, and Personal Income taxes, with a very simple National Sales Tax to fund the federal government with the benefits of encouraging the brand “Made in America” for more jobs, and American security, while removing the horrendous burden of trying to comply with 70,000+ pages of complicated tax code

We also would like to effectively unburden all Americans from paying taxes at a poverty level of spending. As it is now, the poor are especially burdened with regressive employee payroll taxes and the embedded cost of (capitol gains, corporate and employer paid payroll taxes not to mention the additional cost of tax lawyers and accountants to comply with the present overly complex tax code) in the products they purchase.

White House 2 is a multi-partisan network of 10540 citizens imagining how the White House might work if it was run completely democratically by thousands of people over the internet. It's free and all U.S. citizens can join.

We're setting priorities, collaborating on policy, and creating a massive database of 2867 talking points covering all sides of every important issue facing our country. Watch the video intro.

Getting involved is easy and fun. Just join and start setting your priorities, like a todo list. The more people who endorse a priority, the higher it rises in the charts. The more people who join the network, the more clout we will have with the President and the media.
