Acts of terror not sponsored by States should be treated as criminal matters. Using the military to drop bombs and occupy Nations (where many innocent civilians get caught in the crossfire) creates more hatred and more terrorists.

21st Century "War on Drugs"

A war on terror is essentially saying “we’re going to try to prevent bad people from doing bad things”. Of course we are. We don’t need a slogan like “The Global War on Terror.” to know that we will fight for peace and prosperity. Everyone might not like everyone else, but using political buzzwords isn’t needed. We know we’ll fight for freedom. We’ve done it several times now.

We already have. That is not what our current military pursuits are doing, and this phrase seems to be absent from the current administration.
