Obama Administration endorses
Improve the quality and competitiveness of our students

Talking points helpful to endorsers

We must find a way to more fully engage our entire citizenry in life-time education. This includes: Comprehensive K-12 education that challenges the brightest while assisting the neediest. We should encourage 360 degree mentoring, beginning somewhere in elementary school and continuing throughout our citizens’ lives. Only by involving everyone can we assure that all are elevated.

Supporting End the drug war

Pour all that money into early childhood education, end “No Child Left Behind,” and cut out the middleman on student loans.

In short, our students must be more competitive. I can see why they are not. There is nothing exciting about learning something you already know over and over again. They need to focus on a career/careers early. They need to learn a foreign language. It’s very important. We can complain about why they should not learn another language or just get left behind. It’s come to those choices. Start a program, reward students like they do in the workplace for the best performances and ideas.

Talking points helpful to opposers

I think we are confusing what we HOPE for in our country, and what we would like to see our federal government (and maybe governments at other levels) actually do.

I would like to see more rainbows, stars and sunsets. What can Obama do?

While I agree with the statement at face value, I disagree that the Federal government should be the entity controlling the methods. This country has 50 states. What better way to find the best methods than to let each state work out their own programs, then use the best parts of each.

Education is not in the constitution so it should be left to the states.

Talking points helpful to undeclared

This is simply the wrong way to approach the problem. Its too vague and everything now being done is in the wrong direction.
Competitiveness is really the worst possible bar for good education. We need to give children the tools that will empower them, not raise them to be corporate soldiers.
You cannot improve the quality of a student, thats a fixed value. You can improve the quality of education

Too many students are influenced by the easy way out is the best way. This creates job loss and cost tax payers a lot of money for the Educational institutions not doing there job of enforcing the teachings of morals and ethics in there students to do right for there country by being competitive not deceptive.

White House 2 is a multi-partisan network of 10540 citizens imagining how the White House might work if it was run completely democratically by thousands of people over the internet. It's free and all U.S. citizens can join.

We're setting priorities, collaborating on policy, and creating a massive database of 2867 talking points covering all sides of every important issue facing our country. Watch the video intro.

Getting involved is easy and fun. Just join and start setting your priorities, like a todo list. The more people who endorse a priority, the higher it rises in the charts. The more people who join the network, the more clout we will have with the President and the media.
